We recently had the chance to go to the Rick's Picks exhibit at Burpee Museum here in our hometown. It was fantastic. You don't even need to be a Cheap Trick fan to enjoy it. (Not even a rock-n-roll fan!) There are so many unique and special guitars, and so much interesting rock-n-roll memorabilia, that we ran out of time to see it all.
Rick Nielsen, who lives in Rockford, is a true artist and collector. It was a rare pleasure to see all of his collection in one place, so beautifully displayed and presented. The videos are incredibly well done, played on iPads all over the place, and there's even a 45-minute movie in a small theater in the back of the exhibit about Rick and his influence on rock music. You can only see these things at the exhibit, and this is the last weekend (April 12-14) to see it here in Rockford. Click here for more details on the finale weekend.
